Another rebuttal to more MI4CS opposition...

[Do we discard, reject, throw-away what could be great, because we perceive that it cannot be made perfect?

"We can DWELL upon (the minor points/issues) that which we disagree and that divide us, or we can (and should, IMO) concentrate/focus on the things on which we agree and that unite us. -- I choose cooperation, and I hope you'll join with me. It is about Principles, NOT Personalities."

The following was originally a response to MI4CS regarding others' continued opposition…

MI4CS: The Best of Intentions updated

For anyone that is interested, I have added Cindy's response as I said I would do. Once again, let me make it perfectly clear that I speak for myself alone and in no way represent the Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots or any other group. I have many friends and know many wonderful patriots whose groups are among those who are participating in MI4CS and others who are not. Again, for full disclosure, my organization withdrew very early on. I wholeheartedly…

Why recall Pavlov?

There is a recall effort for State Senator Phil Pavlov. Why?

I’m pleased with his service for his part in replacing the job killing MBT, passing a reform budget in record time, capping welfare benefits and emergency manager reforms among other matters. This is what we elected him to do and voters in our district are smart and should be respected. What the heck are we supposed to do with cities like…

MI4CS Process

The MI4CS process is, rightfully so, being questioned. I wish to sincerely thank Pete Konetchy and those who do articulately question this process. There have been very good cogent opinions, One of the biggest is that we don't need another organization telling the Tea Party who to vote for. Please consider that if you belong to a Tea Party and need some to tell you how to vote you are probably in the wrong club. We, who have joined and participate, OF OUR OWN FREE WILL, in MI4CS are…

Modern Political Conservatism: A Preliminary Obituary

First, let me describe what I believe to be traditional or true political conservatism.  True political conservatism has five core principles: (1) Respect for the Constitution and its literal interpretation, (2) Limited federal government and respect for state’s rights, (3) Fiscal responsibility - low taxes, balanced budget, and low debt, (4) Individual liberty – defense of the Bill of Rights, and (5) A strong military.  The word conservatism, of course, may also apply to religious and moral…See More
