Lapeer Community Schools will hold a public hearing on November 17 (Thursday), at the Lapeer Community Schools Administration and Services Center, (250 Second St.) at 7 p.m. Among the issues being heard is a change to the current by-laws extending the term of office for members of the Board of Education from a term of four years to six years.

Last week the Michigan Senate voted to approve the Health Care exchange that is required under Obamacare. Last week, several leaders from many different Tea Party groups. The bills sponsor was Sen. Jim Marleau. He was in attendance at this meeting.
We were told that this bill had to be passed. That if we passed this bill, we would get to regulate the coverage for abortion under Obamacare. That the Conservative thing for Republicans to do was to keep local control over what we…

The debate over raising the debt ceiling and the subsequent downgrade of the credit rating of the United States has given rise to certain commentary that, while interesting, is fallacious. I have heard and read what essentially amounts to blaming both political parties. If one argues that both political parties contributed to the creating of the unsustainable debt, it is a fair argument.
