Keeping the grass roots growing!!
Disappointment does not begin to express my feelings about the amnesty issue facing our nation. When the Mulvaney/Salmon/Brat amendment was introduced to the CRomnibus spending bill that would block funding for President Obama’s amnesty policy, I was hopeful & encouraged that a solution had been found to stop our tyrannical leader from being able to implement the immigration amnesty law. My hopes were dashed to pieces when the House Rules Committee blocked all amendments including the Mulvaney/Salmon/Brat that would have defunded Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty. GOP leaders afraid of accusations from the liberal media & the White House of “wanting to shut down the government” have once again cowed & bowed to the unconstitutional whims of our leader. The fact is that if Obama vetoed a bill that defunded his illegal action, he would be the one forcing the shut-down. This is not “the change” the American people voted for last month. We wanted a Congress that would stand up to Barack Obama & vote for policies that uphold our United States Constitution. After being heckled at an event, the President stated that he “changed the law”. The President does not have the power to write law, he is to execute the law that Congress makes. The President’s executive actions have upset the delicate balance of separation of powers that is the distinguishing stamp of our Constitutional framework. Does the President have the authority to change or make a new law? No he does not. The President’s actions are unconstitutional, unlawful & in violation of the separation of powers. Impatient presidents may not violate the Constitution just because they don’t get their own way. Make note cowardly GOP rhinos that we are watching your votes & won’t forget in 2016. Carol L. Brown
