Keeping the grass roots growing!!
Appalled’ by letter writer
Regarding the writer who is “appalled” that anyone would dare think that a young person would question the attributes of the ACA, I can only assume her head is stuck in the sand.
Writer, are you appalled that six million families have had their insurance policies canceled because of this Unaffordable law? Are you appalled that many patients have lost their policies, doctors, and hospitals despite the President promising otherwise? Are you appalled that many chronically ill people no longer have some of their life sustaining medications covered?
At nearly 60 years old, my policy is required to include pediatric dentistry and birth control. What is logical about that? The President has illegally announced countless waivers of this law in favor of large donors, and declared more than 36 unconstitutional executive orders to change or delay existing legislation. There is no doubt this is being done out of fear of the November election. Sadly, Congress sits idly by, and allows him to get away with it.
It is appalling that workers’ jobs have been eliminated, or hours have been reduced due to the cost of mandated health care the employer can no longer afford to provide. Vending machine business owners must update their equipment to indicate calorie counts of their goods, to the tune of more than a collective $25 million.
If we come out from under our rocks, and actually look at the figures, we will find it to be much higher. Our household, under the bronze plan would have to spend more than $20,000 before one penny kicks in under this new “affordable” care act. We do not qualify for subsidies.
If we allow this law to stay in effect as-is, there is no limit to what our legislators can force us to purchase in fear of taxation. Hopefully, the writer who is so naïve to think this is a wonderful thing will consider looking at the big picture. I am personally appalled by “low information voters.”
