Keeping the grass roots growing!!

A Message from the Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots

Our Representatives are home from Washington for a summer recess, currently there are two extremely important issues that will be brought up in September when they return that could have a profound effect on the future of our country. They are the Defunding of Obamacare and Immigration Reform. Depending on which way our Representatives vote could determine if we remain a Constitutional Republic or continue down the path of big government socialism.

Many Republican Representative around the country are not having town hall meetings because they don’t want to deal with feedback on these issues from their conservative constituents. Our Representative Candice Miller is not planning to have a town hall meeting, and in addition she will not be attending our September meeting as in prior years. So if we want to express our concerns and opinions to her it must be done now either by e-mail or by phone. There is a concern that unless we, the members of the Lapeer Tea Party express our opinion on these two issues she will go back to Washington thinking that it's OK to follow the moderate Republican Party lead and do nothing to defund Obamacare, and to vote for some diluted form of the Senate passed immigration reform legislation.

We need your support NOW, please contact Representative Miller at the e-mail or phone numbers listed below. Let her know that you support legislation that would defund Obamacare during the 2014 fiscal year… even if President Obama shuts down the government.  Republicans must get the message out that they have funded the government but have not funded Obamacare, so there is no reason for Washington to be shut down. On Immigration Reform we need to tell Representative Miller... no immigration reform until the borders are SECURED, once that’s done we can discuss other proposals. We also need to tell her that there can be no vote on any immigration reform legislation unless the Hastert Rule is in place, forcing a Republican majority to approve the bill before a vote can take place. By the way it would not hurt to tell her that you are a member of the Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots.

Here are is the e-mail address and phone numbers for Representative Candice Miller.
