The Republican Party: On Suicide Watch

Is the Republican Party about to commit suicide? The collaboration of 15 Republican senators with all of the Democrat senators in passing the Senate Amnesty Bill seems to indicate that they have a death wish for their Republican party.  Consider the following:

 

The Rule of Law Party:   Republicans have always proclaimed themselves to be defenders of the Constitution and “The Rule of Law.”  Yet, the Senate Amnesty Bill not only forgives 11 million felony crimes, it also rewards those criminals who committed those crimes, by giving them the highest honor this country can bestow - United States Citizenship, and pays them for committing their crimes by giving them all the financial benefits afforded natural citizens!! The Republican Party will never again be able to proclaim itself to be “The Rule of Law” party.  If they ever attempt to, they will become a laughing stock. The Socialist Democrats know this and it is part of their agenda to permanently damage the Republican Party brand with this absurd Amnesty legislation.

 

1,000+ page legislation rammed through Congress:  Republicans severely (and rightly) criticized the way the monstrosity legislation known as Obamacare was rammed through Congress.  Two years later, the Republicans (whose motto now seems to be - if you can’t beat them, join them) are enthusiastically joining the Socialist Democrats in doing exactly the same thing – ramming through legislation for amnesty for illegal immigrants.  Both pieces of legislation are not necessary and actually make conditions worse. Neither was a priority of the American people.  But, both pieces of legislation were top priorities in the Socialist Democrat’s agenda.

 

Pandering:  The former Republican Party has mostly been a party based upon principles of defending the constitution and the rule of law.  Conversely, the Socialist Democrat Party has been a party pandering to a coalition of special interest groups.  Now, the Republican Party is about to abandon its orientation to principle in order to pander to a special interest group -Hispanics.  The Republicans are attempting to compete with the Socialist Democrats in pandering to Hispanic illegals for their votes in exchange for U.S. Citizenship with benefits.  This is a shamelessly disgusting spectacle put on by Republicans.  Democrats do this pandering routinely – it defines them.

 

Plain Stupidity:  If the Republicans pass any form of Amnesty legislation they will be just plain stupid.  The hard facts about the Hispanic vote is this:  Since 1980 the Hispanic vote has been extremely consistent with about 30% voting Republican and 70% voting Democrat.  These statistics held steady even when Reagan and the Republicans passed the first Immigration Legislation in the mid 1980’s granting amnesty to 3 million illegal Hispanics (border security was promised but never implemented).  With this 2013 Amnesty legislation, the Republicans are giving the Socialist Democrats about 4,400,000 new votes (70%-30% x 11 million illegals).  This figure will only increase in the Democrats favor as the 11 million illegals bring other families members to the U.S. 

 

Any political party that does the above and expects to retain their previous supporters is delusional. The Republican Party has become a party run by elite illusionists, and self-serving crony capitalists.  All eyes are on the House Republicans.  Can they save the party, or will they join in the death spiral started by the Senate Republicans?  For the sake of our country, as well as the Republican Party, I hope the House Republicans KILL the Senate Amnesty Bill and never even vote on it (just like the Senate does with many bills it receives from the House).  What should be done is to strengthen existing immigration laws by allowing the states to enforce the law in cases where the Federal Government is either unwilling or unable.  The immigration laws are not broken, the Federal Governments enforcement of the laws are broken - by order of Obama.
